Over 1000 Engineering students had their first brush with real-world applications when they met Industry Experts at a free seminar hosted by CADD Centre in association with Solidworks and Education Times on February 16.
The seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Engineering Services & Project Management’ gave the future managers an insight into the developments sweeping the field of CAD/CAM/CAE.
The seminar held at Bangalore comprised of two sessions – one for Architectural / Civil Engineers and other focused on Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. M.R. Ravi Shankar, Director- India Design Centre, Goodrich Aerospace, shared his views and experiences on the aerospace industry and its outlook in India. Mr. P. M. Ravi Kumar, Education Manager –India & SAARC, Solid Works Corporation gave a presentation on advanced 3D modeling.
Giving an industry perspective, Mr. Phaniraj, National Head –Engineering Services / R&D, ADECCO India listed out Industry expectations from a Mechanical Engineer. He said that the engineering Services Outsourcing is the next wave after IT and ITES and the ESO industry will require over 2.5 lakh engineers with CAD skills by 2020.
Mr. A. C. Kadir Velu, Chief Engineer (Retd), ITI & Consulting Engineer & Valuer, spoke on importance of Quality Control in ensuring good RCC Framework of Structures. Mr. Thirunathan, Managing Director, ARCHI’S TREND, outlined the role of Architects, Civil Engineers and Interior Designers in Construction Industry. He also showed some of his works reflecting effective space management. Mr. B A Madhukar, Director, Potential Project Managers Pvt. Ltd., spoke on project management in construction explained the need for more project management professionals due to growing job opportunities in the field.
During the event CADD Centre presented “CADD Centre Proficiency award” to the grooming engineers from different colleges for their excellence in academics.
Mr. N. Subramanian, Country Head- Operations, CADD Centre Training Services (P) Ltd, spoke on CADD Centres’ Initiative towards CAD Training.
Career Opportunities In CAD For Engineers

The objective of the seminar is to create awareness among engineers on the latest developments in CAD, which will equip them for the global needs.
CADD Centre Launches new training centre in Dubai

CADD Centre, Asia’s largest training institute for Computer Aided Designing has opened its 211th centre in Dubai, Knowledge Village. CADD Centre, which already has its presence in foreign countries such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Qatar, Nigeria and Oman is also planning to launch more centres in Gulf region. Currently, with the launch of its Dubai centre, CADD Centre's overseas network covers eight foreign countries.
“With the boom in civil engineering, manufacturing and petrochemicals, there is a huge demand in Middle East and UAE, for training on CAD & Project management products. Our training programs are very successful at Bahrain and Doha. By having a centre in one location means that we can expand to smaller town of the country in the future.
CADD Centre has a strong Middle East presence for many years now. CADD Centre trained engineers and diploma engineers are working in many parts of the Middle East. CADD Centre is a well known name in the country and acceptance of CADD Centre products are very high. We will be working hard to have a centre in every Middle East country as we move along. We will be looking for multiple centers in larger countries and a single centre in smaller countries. CADD Centre, Asia’s largest training institute for Computer Aided Designing has opened its 210th centre in Oman in partnership with Polyglot Institute, Oman, a pioneer in the field of vocational training within the Sultanate of Oman. The new entity will be CADD Centre, Oman and it will be the first of its kind training facility in Oman.
